Living in the Pacific Northwest has given us access to a plethora of rich ingredients right from our area. My favorite ingredient is honey- a pure, natural sweetener prepared by bees from nectar collected from wild and cultivated flowers. A little goes a long way, especially when making dog treats. My father was a Beekeeper for many years as a hobby. I am lucky to be able to use his own raw honey for Turtlebob’s treats.

Many people ask, why Turtlebob’s? Well, our family pets include: Misty Moo the spunky red-headed Golden Retriever/Lab, Oliver the BIG friendly Black Lab and the infamous Bob- the Russian Tortoise.  Bob loves to mill around the kitchen floor as if to supervise my every move.

Misty Moo and Oliver’s favorite time is to go down to the water and swim out for sticks. Oliver is just content letting Misty do all the work and then taking the stick from her when she gets to the shore at last minute! If there is mud, Misty will find it and roll in it. If there is something really stinky, Oliver will find it and roll in it. They are best buddies and partners in crime.
